Open Positions
The Dragas Companies, a well-established real estate development and construction company in Hampton Roads, is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee a diverse portfolio of custom residential and commercial renovations, including office, hospitality, retail, and other specialty commercial spaces.

Position Description
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all field operations for multiple renovation and
new construction projects. This individual will oversee custom residential renovations, residential new construction, as well as light commercial interior and exterior renovations, ensuring each project is completed with exceptional craftsmanship, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with Dragas Companies’ standards of excellence.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable working in residential homes and active light commercial environments, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong communication with clients, architects, designers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate and supervise all phases of residential and commercial renovation and construction projects from preconstruction through final completion.
• Manage custom home renovations, and high-end residential remodeling projects, and new construction as required.
• Oversee commercial renovation projects including office, hospitality, retail, and tenant improvement work.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and field personnel to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and design documents.
• Develop, monitor, and update project schedules.
• Conduct regular quality control inspections to ensure superior workmanship and compliance with company standards.
• Coordinate municipal inspections and obtain required approvals.
• Review and authorize subcontractor progress payments.
• Work closely with project managers, architects, designers, owners, and consultants to proactively resolve field issues.
• Coordinate material deliveries to maintain efficient workflow.
• Maintain accurate daily job reports and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain safe, organized, and clean job sites.
• Foster positive, professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and fellow team members.
Compensation & Benefits
• Compensation from $100,000 to $140,000 including bonuses, depending upon licensing credentials and experience

Required Education, Experience & Skills
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising construction projects, with significant experience in residential and commercial renovations.
• Virginia DPOR RBC, CBC, and/or HIC qualification is desirable
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple renovation projects simultaneously.
• Extensive technical knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods, building systems, and renovation sequencing.
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans, and construction specifications.
• Experience coordinating work in occupied homes and operating commercial facilities.
• Ability to safely and professionally operate basic hand and power tools required.
• Framing and/or trim carpentry experience a plus.
• Excellent organizational, scheduling, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate subcontractors and field personnel.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Experience with scheduling software, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
• Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated employment stability and sound personal financial management.
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs repeatedly throughout the workday.
• Must be able to work a minimum of eight continuous hours in varying weather conditions and active construction environments.
• Ability to see within normal parameters.
• Ability to hear within normal range.
