Helen Dragas Named to Inside Business' 2018 Power List

Dragas President and CEO Helen Dragas has been named to Inside Business’ Power List for 2018, acknowledged for her ability to produce outcomes not only for her business, but for the broader community. The Hampton Roads business journal’s annual listing profiles dozens of the region’s most influential leaders, and the list ranking is determined by the Inside Business editorial board. In 2018, The Dragas Companies celebrates its 50th anniversary through community engagement, doubling down on being community builders in every sense of the phrase. “It’s in our corporate DNA to be caring, purposeful, invested and enduring,” said Dragas. “We’ve planned a wide variety of philanthropic activities to celebrate this major milestone by giving back to the Hampton Roads region that has been so good to us.” The 50th anniversary has included a $50,000 donation to ForKids from The Dragas Companies (more details here), as well as engagement throughout the year to give 50 pairs of shoes to Girls on the Run, 50 summer reading kits to Boys and Girls Club, and more. Meanwhile, The Dragas Companies continues to develop new well-adorned neighborhoods with a variety of home styles and resort-style amenities. This spring, The Dragas Companies opened Hickory Manor at Edinburgh, a 125-acre, nearly 500-home lifestyle community in southern Chesapeake, and the company has just begun land development on a new community in Western Branch called The Woodlands.
